Miss Kittin

Miss Kittin, originally Caroline Herve, was born in Grenoble, France in 1973. This electronica vocalist and DJ began DJing in a big way along with Mike Dearborn in Moscow, Chicago, and France at a young age. She met up with DJ Hell who introduced her to his label International Deejay Gigolos. Her ‘Miss Kittin & The Hacker’ was her first album released under the label in 2001.

Consistently churning out hits like ‘1982’ and ‘Frank Sinatra’ got her international recognition. She was being seen as the savior of the electroclash scene. Kittin had a deep interest in arts, especially visual arts right from a young age. In fact, she went on to study both contemporary and graphic arts during college. It was only late in her teens that she developed an interest in music ranging from funk to jazz and disco. Dance music was her calling and she started her career with Tekmics Booking Agency, doing gigs in the now famous ‘Dragon Ball’ parties of France.

Kittin later relocated to Geneva in Switzerland in pursuit of further enhancing her DJing skills. She joined Mental Groove Record in Geneva. Always experimenting, she is known to take risks to come out with truly astounding and her very own personal sounds. She has worked with leading names like ‘Chicks on Speed’, ‘Golden Boy’, and ‘Housecat’. 2002 saw her release her smash hit compilation ‘Miss Kittin On The Road’. Her debut solo CD ‘I Com’ was again an unprecedented success. She has also worked with Sven Vath and Steve Bug for ‘Ellen Allien’, a remix. 2006 saw her rock the electronic music festival in Sonar, Barcelona. She also released her much anticipated CD ‘Miss Kittin: Bugged Out’, in 2006.
