Eric Prydz

Eric Prydz was born on July 19th, 1976. He has been a pioneering influence playing tech house and dark trance, a sub genre of electronic music. This Swedish DJ is best known for his 2004 hit single ‘Call on Me’, which was a chart topper in UK for five weeks.

Along with Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Steve Angello , Eric is part of what is known as the ‘Swedish House Mafia’. Eric’s production skills are evident in his other tracks inclduing ‘Nile’, ‘Spooks’, ‘Woz Not Woz’, and ‘Sucker DJ’, to name only a few.

He remixing skills come to the fore in his remix of Pet Shop Boys 2003 single ‘Miracles’ and Duran Duran’s ‘Reach Up’. He is much sought after for his remixing skills. Making music from a tender age, Eric had a habit of breaking his own keyboards in order to borrow his school’s keyboard. This habit in fact landed him in a Swedish reform school! His resolve only strengthened after this incident and very soon he was producing tracks that were on their way to record boxes, around the world.

Eric works from his studio in the heart of Stockholm, creating funky and hard hitting tunes that set him apart from the crowd. His ‘EP1’ and ‘EP2’ were roaring successes followed by the third installment ‘EP3’. Eric also releases music under different monikers including ‘Sheridan’ , ‘Cirez D’, and ‘Pryda’.

Eric worked together with Axwell under the name ‘Axer’ for the huge catchy hit called ‘123’. His latest remix released in 2006, ‘A Bit Patchy’ is already the rage across dance floors. Eric also runs the records labels Mouseville, Pryda, and Pryda Friends.
