Infected Mushroom
The Infected
Mushroom duo from Israel consists of
Erez Aizen and Amit Duvdevani also
known as Duvdev. Erez, born in 1980,
is a true child prodigy who started out in music at
the tender age of four, when he started playing the
organ, pretty soon graduating to toying with music
and computers. It was by chance that he got his hands
on an impulse tracker and began exploring trance,
which he at that point in time, referred to as just
impulse music. By his early teens, Erez was a member
of the famed Shidapu band. The Shidapu band collaborated
with DJ Jorg to become Shiva Shidapu. Erez also releases
solo tracks under the alias I-Zen.
Duvdev, born in
1974 too had started out with playing piano quite
early on in his life, before he took a liking to punk
rock. He was pretty soon playing keyboard and what
is more, even wrote his own lyrics when just into
his teens as part of a local band Enzyme. Incidentally
one of the bands that Duvdev played was a punk rock
band named Infected Mushroom. He was soon bitten by
the trance bug. He spent around a year in India and
decided to take a full fledge plunge. He met Erez
after this and together they released a few tracks
under the name Shidapu & Duvdev, concentrating
on simple trance. They graduated to more groovy music
with percussive drums and began to call themselves
‘Infected Mushroom’.
Every one of their release is eagerly
awaited, such has been their impact on the dance floors,
around the world. Their smash hit album ‘Gathering’
occupies a coveted place in the ‘most played
trance album’ list. ‘BP Empire’
showcases their trance prowess. No wonder they are
counted among the best trance acts ever. Watch out;
their music is infectious.
