Antoine Clamaran
Born in Paris, Antoine is becoming
a rage across the world. The early 90s saw Antoine
Clamaran’s fame catching the attention
of Maximum FM, the leading Parisian dance radio station
of the time. His phenomenal mixing skills meant that
he was enthralling a huge audience and was a regular
at parties. Palace headquarters, Paris, asked him
to run the mythical Gay Tea Dance instead of French
icon Garnier, such was the man’s burgeoning
popularity.
His insatiable hunger to produce
came true in 1992, when he teamed up with Laurent
Pautrat. Their first release ‘I have got music
in me’ by 400hz, released on House trade records
and licensed by BMG France sold over a whopping 100,000
units! Record companies started queuing them up as
they came up with remixes like ‘funky music’
by Calvin Stone, ‘Party Time’ by Gloria
Estefan, and ‘You spin me around’ by Dead
or Alive, to name only a few. His own productions,
going under the names Carayca, D Plac, 400hz, LAC,
Unchain & House Train, were always at the top
of the DJ play lists.
1998 saw him produce club smash hits
under the name Omega with singles like ‘Dreaming
of a better world’ and ‘The Mission’.
All these tracks went gold in France. It was during
this time that he switched his residence from Palace
to Le Queen. By 1999, he decided to produce tracks
under his own name and thus his first productions
‘Do the funk’, ‘Get up,’ and
‘After’ were written. These tracks were
licensed by US based label Filtered records and were
released on Discoland EP. The ‘Filtered Disco
Style’ of Clamaran was the buzzword in house
communities. Antoine manages four labels as producer
and has achieved great success with spinning turntables
at two big Parisian clubs currently, Les Bains Douches
and Le Queen. A creative music magician.
