If it is powerful vocals and sexy
house and techno beats, then it must be Josh
Gabriel and Dave Dresden. Better known
as Gabriel & Dresden, this San Francisco based
artist/production/DJ duo has over half a dozen billboard
dance chart hits to their credit including remixes
for ‘Me against the Music’ featuring Madonna
and Britney Spears. Their teaming up with vocalist
Jes Brieden resulted in 2003 smash hits like ‘Lament’
and ‘When The Rush Comes’, rocking dance
floors with their signature lush emotive melodies
and funky beats.
Their debut album ‘Bloom’
featured some great original dance music. From galloping
rhythms to immediately recognizable vocals, the album
made them household names. The team’s mix of
Lili Haydn’s ‘Anything’, was to
prove another major turning point in their musical
career.
These blessed artists are both long
time dance veterans. Dresden started off as a DJ in
Connecticut before moving to LA’s Groove Radio
as a music director in 2000. Josh Gabriel, originally
from California, met Dresden during the Winter Music
Conference in Miami in 2001. Josh Gabriel is in fact
the inventor of the popular software ‘Mixman’.
The rest, as they say, is history.
As producers, their dance club favorite
‘Motorcycle’ with ‘As The Rush Comes’,
reached #11 on the UK charts and was the #1 Dance
Song on U.S radio in 2004. Their recent compilations
‘Without You Near’ and ‘Zacola’
continue their mega successful legacy in dance music.
With Gabriel & Dresden, you sort of have come
to expect the unexpected. And boy don’t we all
