David Morales
David
Morales is a renowned remixer, producer,
and DJ born on 21st August 1961 in Brooklyn. This
internationally acclaimed house music DJ is also the
co-owner of Def Mix productions, one of the leading
dance music production companies of all time.
David has been setting
the standards with his unique style picked up from
the streets of Brooklyn, quite early on in his life.
David is also referred to as ‘The
Face’, by his die hard fans. His massive hit
single ‘Needin’ You’ reached # 8
in the UK charts. The single was released on Manifesto
label. The track features vocals by none other than
Julia Roberts.
1989 saw David gain
residency at a new club ‘Red Zone’ in
UK where his native influences along with the fusion
of British sounds became a rage. In fact, a separate
term ‘Red Zone Mixes’ was coined to honor
Morales. Morales soon became a legendary figure in
the underground music scene. Come 1991 and David produced
and released ‘David Morales And The Bad Yard
Club’, a huge hit along with the follow-up ‘The
Program’ in 1993. His ‘Wind Up Your Body’
is yet another feather in his cap.
David has been a
regular on MTV’s ‘The Grind’ and
mixed music for the phenomenally successful show as
well. His Saturday night show called ‘Morales
At Midnight’ on New York’s dance music
radio station WKTU is a hit with crowds. When not
touring, David is busy honing his production skills
collaborating with top artists like Michael Jackson,
Janet Jackson, Seal, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, and
Whitney Houston, to name only a few. His brilliant
skills saw him being nominated for a Grammy Award
in 1996 for the Mariah Carey single ‘Fantasy’.
David‘s success graph soared with his 1997 productions
‘Honey’ and ‘Butterfly’ for
Mariah Carey. Keep the great work going David.
