British ‘King of Tech-House’ DJ Seb Fontaine, known for his signature trance and progressive house sounds started DJing when in his teens. It was all in the genes as some would say since he was just following in the footsteps of his mother who too was a DJ. His original name is Jean Fontaine but he had to change it to ‘Seb’ since he was constantly the butt of jokes in school, as friends would rib him for having a girl’s name.

Seb Fontaine’s first residency was at the famous ‘Ministry of Sound’, in London. Seb would also go around London playing in other spots. His fame shot up when he gained Paul Oakenfold’s residencies at ‘Cream’ in Liverpool and Ibiza. Seb also launched his own label ‘Spot On ’, which is best known for discovering Stretch & Vern.

Seb was also part of the ‘Malibu Stacey’, which he promoted along with friend Craig Richards. UK’s hardworking motorway jocks’ first brush with worldwide superstardom started with the launch of the ‘Prototype Series’ in 1999, with the primary focus on trance and progressive house sound. Very soon, in January 2000 to be precise, he appeared on the cover of the Muzik Magazine and was named none less than ‘the DJ of the Next Millennium’.

He went on to be a part of UK station Radio 1 and London’s Kiss FM. His infectious personality saw him advance to his own prime time show in Radio 1 in February 2001. The fourth edition of Prototype was released during the same time, taking him on an international tour where he was to enthrall fans. He continues to dig deeper to come out with astounding music.
