Johan Gielen has been spinning vinyl since his teens. Born on February 23rd, 1968 in Mol, Belgium, this versatile genius is a world famous remixer, producer, and trance artist apart from being a DJ.

For well over a decade now, Johan Gielen has been enthralling audiences and rocking dance floors in Australia, Germany, Spain, Holland, England, Ireland, Israel, and Japan, apart from native Belgium, to name only a few. You can also find him during his residencies at Club Gorgeous in Copenhagen, Denmark.

He and his ‘partner in music’ Sven Maes are the names behind the mega hits from Balearic Bill, Des Mitchell, Svenson & Gielen, and Airscape, making them hugely successful trance producers. Their remixing skills have seen them working with Scooter, Boy George, Vengaboys, Chicane, and Delirium.

Johan Gielen’s weekly radio show ‘Lift Off’ in ID & T on Saturday nights was a great success. You can now hear him on Fresh FM where he is the host of a weekly show ‘In Session’. Some of his latest tracks include massive hits like ‘Flash’ and ‘Show me what you got’.

A natural with crowds, he has been quoted saying, “To me, giving other people a good time is the most important aspect of being a DJ. I love to communicate with the crowd without the use of words. Music is the ideal tool for this; it enables you to share the same emotions without speaking them out loud. When the crowd goes wild on the floor, Johan Gielen is a happy man!” Needless to say, dance floor enthusiasts too are happy to have him.
